Department of Economic Development – Ajman reveals positive impact and benefits to be gained from decision to exempt businesses with expired licences from stiff fines and penalties

The Department of Economic Development – Ajman (DED-Ajman) has revealed that the recent Emiri resolution No. (16) of 2018 issued in May 2018 by His Highness (H.H.) Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, to exempt local businesses with expired business licences from stiff penalties and fines until the end of this year has left a positive impact on local businesses. According to the Emiri resolution, the period of implementing the decision will be in effect until December 31, 2018, wherein the economic establishments will be able to renew their licenses through a variety of channels such as the TASHEEL Tawasol Center, Ajman TASHEEL Services Center, TAAJEEL Center, Hamidiya customer happiness Center, Municipality Service Center, Manama Branch, SANAD Masfoot Center.

H.E. Ali Issa Al Nuaimi, Director General, DED-Ajman, said, “The Emiri decision to exempt local businesses with expired business licenses from stiff penalties and fines before January 2019 reflects the wise leadership’s keenness to achieve happiness and maintain economic and social well-being in the emirate—which is aimed towards positioning Ajman as the best economic and investment center while also supporting key aspects of leadership on the local, regional and global maps.”

Obaid Ibrahim Al Matroushi, Owner of Modern Fashion Tailoring and Embroidery, said, “It is not surprising for our leaders to launch such initiatives, especially as they are making a lot of efforts to enhance the investment and consumer climate, which in turn, helps attract more investors to the emirate.
