DED-Ajman Receives a Delegation from Ministry of Economy

The Department of Economic Development (“DED-Ajman”) received a delegation from Ministry of Economy (“the Ministry”) headed by HE Humaid Bin Butti Al Muhairi, Deputy Undersecretary for Commercial Affairs Sector. The delegation was received by HE Ali Issa Al Nuaimi, Director General of DED-Ajman and a number of DED-Ajman’s leaders. Ways of mutual cooperation between the two entities with respect to the National Economic Register (“NER”) and regulation of e-commerce were discussed in presence of Ahmed Al Husani, Manager of the Ministry’s Commercial Registration Department and Ahmed Al Rashud, an expert in the Ministry.

Commenting on the meeting, HE Ali Issa Al Nuaimi said: “Our meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Economy was very fruitful. We discussed mechanisms of cooperation in various economic fields, particularly e-commerce which currently constitutes a rising trend in local and international markets. We also discussed with the Ministry mechanisms of cooperation with respect to provision of data relating to free zones within the NER Platform. We have the pleasure to permanently cooperate with different government entities in a way that ensures implementation of the best practices in regulating economic activities and contributes to reinforcing levels of economic growth in different business sectors across the State.”

It is worth noting that the two parties agreed to cooperate for developing and updating NER which constitutes a unified electronic platform comprising data of all economic facilities all over the State, through coordination with relevant entities for addition of the data relating to free zone facilities to NER. Moreover, the two parties agreed to cooperate for setting regulatory frameworks of e-commerce activities, in a way that strengthens development and economic diversification and keeps pace with economic and technical developments around the world.
