DED-Ajman participates in the celebration of the Gulf Day for Consumer Protection


Under the slogan “towards a safe online shopping”, DED-Ajman participated through Control & Consumer Protection Department in the celebration of the Gulf Day for Consumer Protection, organized by the Ministry of Economy at the Sofitel Downtown Hotel, and attended by a large number of official entities with Consumer Cooperative Union in UAE at their head.

In this respect, Maher Butti Al Suwaidi, director of the Consumer Protection Section at DED-Ajman highlighted the DED’s keenness to participate in all consumer protection events in order to identify the best practices and share the latest developments in consumer protection. In particular, DED’s Consumer Protection Section has prepared a rich program to celebrate this day which will be announced in the next days.

The ceremony saw the announcement of discounts on 300 cooperative goods during March, as stated by H.E Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki, Director of Happiness and Government Communication at the UAE’s Consumer Cooperative Union.

It should be noted that DED-Ajman celebrates the Consumer Protection Day every year, as part of its keenness to secure consumer markets and ensure the highest levels of consumer right protection, being a key priority within DED’s trend towards a safe and fair sustainable consumer and investment environment that supports the economic sector in the Emirate.
