Ajman DED Consumer Protection seizes ten thousand forged products

Within the context of the ongoing efforts to secure consumer markets in the emirate of Ajman , the Directorate of Control and Consumer Protection of the Economic Development has organized an extensive inspection campaign on Thursday, 24/11/2016 which resulted in the seizure of one of the violating warehouses in Aljaref industrial zone and found about 10 thousand pieces of counterfeit group of "brands" of international trade marks , the Directorate of Control and Consumer Protection has confiscated these counterfeit products in accordance with the law and has taken the deterrent measures to close the warehouse.

Mr. Mohamed Masoud Al Ketbi, Director of the Directorate of Control and Consumer Protection in the Department of Economic Development in Ajman emphasized that the main objective of these campaigns is to ensure the safety of the products offered in the market and its compliance with the quality specifications to provide consumer safety in the markets throughout the emirate of Ajman also for the preservation of the rights of big companies and the owners of well-known trademarks. Al Ketbi noted that the Department of Economic Development is highly concerned to intensify inspection campaigns in the Emirate's markets on a regular basis through a comprehensive field inspection plan, implemented on year-round by a competent team of inspectors from the Directorate of Control and Consumer Protection in confirmation of the keenness of the department to combat and deter all forms of commercial fraud and to reduce the negative practices that may be used by some traders, The Director of the Directorate of Control and Consumer Protection stated that the Department of Economic Development receive any complaints related to commercial fraud, or in the case of consumers monitoring any wrong practice through the communication channels available to the department, both at the toll-free number 80070 or by e-mail info@ajmanded.ae.
