The composite business confidence index (BCI) in Ajman recorded an increase of 44 points during H1 of this year compared to H2 of last year, according to a survey conducted by the Department of Economic Development (Ajman DED), where the index reached 136 points, by about 125 points for the local business community confidence, regarding the current economic situation and 146 points for the confidence index in the future of the economy, showing high confidence and positive expectations about the general economic situation in Ajman.
H.E Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director-General of the Ajman DED, said: “We generally find a state of general optimism among companies between all business sectors, and we attribute this optimism to the incentive initiatives and measures aimed at enhancing the investment environment and ease of business and enabling companies to maintain their competitiveness and create new economic opportunities for them.” We have been working with its strategic partners to support the business community and highlight Ajman’s position as the best investment havens.”
In turn, Saeed Humoud Saeed, Director of the Ajman Competitiveness Office of the Ajman DED, said: “We work in the Ajman Competitiveness Office to monitor, measure and study all economic indicators related to the investment and business sectors, in partnership with well-established local and international institutions, and the business confidence index (BCI) is one of the most important indicators that we measure on a semi-annual basis, to identify the business owners’ visions and expectations regarding economic developments.”
The BCI is considered a reliable standard for measuring the business community pulse and the state of companies, institutions, banks and investors, due to the current and future perceptions it provides about economic activity in Ajman during the current and future periods, which contributes to analyzing important trends for entrepreneurs and company owners.
