The Sustainability Team at the Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) organized a brainstorming session for its employees at the Ajman Museum. During the session, the participants presented a set of suggestions and initiatives in support of the Ajman DED’s plan to adopt a comprehensive work system targeting various economic, societal, and environmental topics, and to take proactive measures to achieve a balance between the requirements of economic and social development and sustainable exploitation of resources and environmental protection. It encourages nature-based solutions to preserve biodiversity and guarantees the right of future generations.
Alyaa Alyammahi, Head of the Sustainability Team, pointed out the importance of these sessions in stimulating creative thinking, effective participation in applying the principles of sustainability in various fields, and constructive cooperation to enhance readiness to build a better future for the benefit of future generations. She added that this step reflects the Ajman DED’s commitment to achieving sustainable development and consolidating the emirate’s position as a leading model to be emulated in its future outlook and the superiority of opportunities over challenges.
Alyammahi stressed that the Ajman DED attaches great importance to achieving a green economy, as one of the most prominent features of sustainable development, with the launch of initiatives and plans that enhance the ambitious process of economic diversification, and at the same time contribute to the shift towards new sectors, based on knowledge, and creating new economic and social opportunities at local and international level.
