Wednesday, 15 May 2024

The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) launched a specialized training program in economic media for its employees and began the program with a training course in editing economic news, which was prepared and presented internally by competent, qualified, and talented national cadres in the field, over the course of two days. Wednesday and Thursday, May 8 and 9, 2024, at the Fairmont Ajman Hotel. The course was attended by 11 employees from the Ajman DED various organizational units. The program aims to educate and sensitize employees, hone their skills in the field of journalism and modern economic media, involve them in the process of spread and expansion, enhance the institutional reputation and directed influence, and support companies’ presence in local and global markets.

In this regard, H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director General of the Ajman DED, said: “Economic media sheds light on the impact of economic variables and their role in development, and reflects the importance of the decisions made and the results of strategic directions. It has become necessary to complete the construction phase in the service of our vision and directions, as it comes through extensive knowledge of people’s interests, requirements, and aspirations.”

Al Hamrani added: “We affirm our commitment to continuing to invest in human capital in various fields by providing specialized programs. We are all confident that this course and the upcoming training courses within the “Economic Media” program will contribute to enhancing effective communication between the Ajman DED and various stakeholders and achieving its goals. We are also proud of the possibilities of our national cadres and distinguished work team, who have proved their competence and ability.”

Sulaiman Al Dhaheri, Instructor of the training course “Economic Press News Editing” and a graduate of the College of Mass Communication, Ajman University, explained that there is a strong link between the media and the economy. The economy has become part of the media industry, and the media is a part of the economic industry, a connection imposed by the givens and achievements of the modern era, until the new concept became "Economic Media", one of the most important strategic trends that has become a fundamental pole within the branches of media.

Al Dhaheri expressed his gratitude for the Ajman DED providing him with the opportunity to transfer his theoretical knowledge and practical experiences to a group of its employees, as many practical applications were implemented during the course, which contributed to achieving a 96% awareness rate among the participants.

It is worth noting that the Ajman DED's “Economic Media” program includes a series of specialized training courses that will be organized throughout the year in the various fields of media and mass communication, most notably; Economic Content Management in Social Media, Partners Relationships Management, and Economic Media Diploma.
