The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) launches the "Entrepreneurship Week", the first event of its kind, in several different places in the emirate, including Ajman City Center and the Flag Park, and this will be in cooperation with government agencies in Ajman. This Initiative aims at spreading awareness of the importance of projects for all segments of society, supporting the entrepreneurship objectives, and keeping pace with global developments. The "Entrepreneurship Week" will contribute to supporting entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by involving them in the events of this week, which will have several different activities, including workshops, and consultation sessions, events, competitions, and an exhibition for entrepreneurs.
On this occasion, H.E. Abdulla Ahmed Al Hemrani, Director-General of the Ajman DED, said: “The Entrepreneurship Week is a turning point towards an innovative knowledge economy in Ajman. We, in the Ajman DED, incubate many emerging and innovative projects, support them through our initiatives and laws, and also motivate them to register their projects as intellectual works”. He also stressed that the "Entrepreneurship Week" initiative is a new step to support our journey towards the future and to enhance the strategic goal of supporting economic growth and sustainability of operations.
For his part, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, Director of Business Development Administration, stated: "The Entrepreneurial Nation is integrated with the development plan and is based on a unified strategy derived from the Ajman vision and supports the Department's objectives in building a knowledge-based economy that relies on innovation and transforming the ideas of entrepreneurs into projects that could achieve high levels of success to enhance the UAE market in attracting the investors and business owners". Al Nuaimi added that the Entrepreneurship Week will be an annual event sponsored by the Emirate of Ajman to support SME owners in all economic activities.
