Ajman DED launches the events of the "Gulf Consumer Protection Week". Shop online consciously

The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) launches the events of the Gulf Consumer Protection Week. This coincides with the events of the 17th edition of the Gulf Consumer Protection Week, which are organized by the consumer protection authorities and departments in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCCC). This aims at unifying the Gulf efforts to expand the umbrella of consumer protection and access to joint cooperation in addition to empowering the consumers by providing them with knowledge and skills to become aware consumers, who know and use their rights and responsibilities and effectively participate in defending their consumer issues. The consumers will be provided with several events, including a booth in the City Life Al Tallah Mall, awareness campaigns in the China Mall in cooperation and coordination with the Ajman Free Zone, and commercial fraud workshops for Ajman government employees at the Saray Hotel, in addition to many events that will be held in the mornings and evenings throughout the week.

On this occasion, Mr. Saud Sultan Al Shammari, Director of Control and Consumer Protection Section of Ajman DED, said that the "Gulf Consumer Protection Week" will strengthen the systems and controls that guarantee the customer rights and needs by enacting legislation that provides quality standards in goods and services, indicating that the implementation of the unified decision will take place based on the experiences of each GCC country, and be guided by their systems actually applied to take advantage of them in the formation of the image of the unified system.

For his part, Mr. Hassan Al Shehhi, Director of Anti-Commercial Fraud Section at the Ajman DED, added: the unified law of the Gulf Consumer Protection Week will enhance commercial activity and contribute to controlling markets and products in the GCC countries, so that they deal with the economy as a single bloc, and that standardizing procedures contributes to accelerating the pace of work and the growth of the economy in the Emirate.
