The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) congratulated the Indian community on the occasion of their country's Independence Day, which falls on August 15 of each year, as the UAE and the Republic of India have close ties of friendship that is characterized by excellence in all economic, social, and cultural fields.
On this occasion, H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director-General of the Ajman DED, said: “Ajman has well-established and solid economic relations with the Republic of India, which is turned into a comprehensive strategic partnership. The nature of economic relations with India has diversified to include a large number of sectors and areas of investment and trade. Moreover, the volume of exports to India amounted to about AED 54 million in 2022, compared to about AED 49 million in 2021, with a growth rate of 11%.
The total number of effective economic licenses for Indian community investors reached 8,244 until H1 2023, with a significant and remarkable growth rate in issuing new licenses to the Indian community, by 60% in 2022 compared to 2021, and by 10% in H1 2023 compared to the first half of the previous year, which reflects the strength and sustainability of economic relations between the two sides.
Al Hamrani invited Indian companies and the Indian businessmen to invest in Ajman and benefit from the advantages and incentives offered by the emirate. He affirmed the commitment to provide all the necessary cooperation, support, assistance, and consulting to Indian companies and their investors who wish to establish their business in Ajman, which has a strategic location and investment attractiveness in light of its adoption of the policy of economic diversification and providing advanced infrastructure and logistics and a stimulating business environment.
