In the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) organized the fifth edition of the Ramadan Economic Majlis, held under the theme "Towards an Innovative Community Economy." The session hosted H.E. Abdullah Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, and was attended by a distinguished group of government officials, business leaders, and ambitious youth. This year's session focused on community economic empowerment and innovation as key pillars for enhancing sustainable development in the UAE.

During the session, H.E. Abdullah Al Saleh presented a comprehensive vision regarding the role of the economy in empowering society, highlighting the importance of supporting emerging projects and providing a stimulating economic environment that enables entrepreneurs to innovate and compete in local and global markets. He also emphasized the strategic directions of the UAE in empowering entrepreneurs and strengthening their role in driving economic development.

In this context, H.E. Saif Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Ajman DED, stated, "The Ramadan Economic Majlis serves as a vital platform for dialogue and the exchange of expertise among various sectors. It represents an opportunity to support and economically empower entrepreneurs by providing insights into the latest economic trends and facilitating the utilization of expert experiences. Supporting entrepreneurs and the community is a fundamental aspect of our vision to enhance the local economy and achieve sustainable development in accordance with Ajman Vision 2030 and the directives of the United Arab Emirates."

For his part, H.E. Abdullah Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, commended the Ramadan Majlis organized by Ajman DED, which witnessed distinguished participation from a number of experts and those interested in economic affairs. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy also discussed how current economic policies contribute to achieving sustainable growth for society and the role of economic policies in supporting economic growth, noting that the real gross domestic product experienced a notable increase of 3.6% in the first half of 2024, with non-oil sectors achieving growth of 4.4%. This strong performance reflects the state's commitment to diversifying the economy through innovative strategies that include digital transformation, tourism, and sustainability.

Al Saleh's address also touched upon the challenges facing the local economy, such as uncertainty in global trade policies and geopolitical tensions. He affirmed that the UAE is working to diversify trade partners and supply chains to address these challenges.

The session also witnessed broad interaction from the attendees, where numerous questions were raised about the challenges and opportunities facing youth in the world of entrepreneurship, in addition to discussing government policies and initiatives aimed at enhancing their effective participation in the national economy.

This Majlis is within the framework of Ajman DED's efforts to enhance partnership between the public and private sectors and create an environment conducive to innovation and investment, in line with the economic agenda of the United Arab Emirates.
