Ajman DED signs cooperation agreement with the AFDE at GITEX 2024 and honors 34 partners

During GITEX 2024, the Ajman Government platform witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) and the Arab Federation for Digital Economy (AFDE(, the leading economic entity, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation. Concurrently, DED honored 34 of its federal, local, academic, and private sector partners.

The agreement is designed to unify efforts in promoting digital transformation and achieving sustainable development through the adoption of best digital economic practices. Furthermore, it will involve studying the labor market and measuring digital economic indicators. This agreement is expected to empower local companies and facilitate the transition to a digital economy.

In a related context, DED honored 34 of its local and federal partners, as well as a number of entities from the private and academic sectors during GITEX. This recognition was in appreciation of the significant role these partners play in supporting economic development projects and fostering fruitful cooperation among various sectors.

On this occasion, H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director General of Ajman DED , expressed his pride and appreciation for the signing of the cooperation agreement during GITEX 2024, noting that these strategic partnerships represent a significant step in promoting digital transformation and economic innovation in the emirate.

He stated, "At DED, we are keen to adopt best digital economic practices in cooperation with our local and international partners, with the aim of facilitating business and supporting sustainable growth. The signing of the cooperation agreement with the AFDEenhances our efforts in developing the digital infrastructure, which will have a positive impact on the business environment in Ajman.'"

Al Hamrani added, "The recognition of 34 of our partners from the public and private sectors and academic institutions underscores the paramount importance of cooperation and partnership in achieving our strategic objectives. We eagerly anticipate the continuation of this fruitful collaboration to bolster comprehensive economic development across the emirate."

Concluding his statement, Al Hamrani reaffirmed the Ajman DED's unwavering commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and supporting digital transformation, aligning with Ajman's economic vision and contributing to sustainable development. 

On this occasion, Dr. Abdullah Al Darmaki, AFDE's Deputy Secretary-General , expressed the AFDE's determination to promptly update the Arab Digital Economy Vision, a vision that is graciously supported by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, May Allah protect him. This step is part of the AFDE's dedication to advancing the Arab digital economy, introducing innovative solutions to strengthen Arab cooperation in this domain, and aligning with the region's technological and economic advancements. Al Darmaki expressed his confidence in the Ajman government's participation in this initiative, as the development of this vision involves a review by Arab and international experts, a contribution he anticipates from the emirate's economic experts and decision-makers.

Moreover, AFDEalluded to forthcoming projects in the realms of scientific research and artificial intelligence, which will be announced soon, expressing its aspiration for Ajman's active participation in these ambitious projects that will elevate the Arab world's standing in the digital economy.

In conclusion, the Ajman DED asserts that these agreements and recognitions are integral components of its efforts to accelerate digital and economic progress in the emirate and to strengthen collaboration with its partners at all levels.
