Umm Al Quwain University visits Ajman DED to learn about best practices

The Department of Economic Development in Ajman (Ajman DED) received a delegation from the College of Law at Umm Al Quwain University with the aim of learning about best practices adopted in consumer protection, consumer protection law, and the digital services rendered to consumers, as well as fostering an exchange of expertise. The delegation was warmly welcomed by H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director General of the Ajman DED, Saud Sultan Al Shammari, Director of Control and Consumer Protection Section, Hassan Ali Al Shehhi, Director of Anti-Commercial Fraud Section, and several other officials. 

On this occasion, Saud Al Shammari stated, "We were delighted to meet with the professors and students of the College of Law from Umm Al Quwain University. During the meeting, we presented an overview of DED's vision, activities, policies, procedures, and the laws implemented in the field of commercial protection and consumer protection, as well as the most significant achievements and results attained during the year. Notably, the closure rate of consumer protection complaints reached 98% during the first nine months of the current year, with cases being closed four working days ahead of schedule." Al Shammari expressed his keen interest in developing collaborative relationships with the University across various areas of mutual interest. 

Professor Fouad Qassem Al Shaibi, a professor of graduate studies at Umm Al Quwain University and the head of the delegation, said, "I extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Ajman DED, its Director-General, and its staff for their warm welcome to the delegation and for the hospitality we have received." Al Shaibi and his students expressed their profound admiration for the various distinguished digital services provided by DED to the consumer public and for the protection of their rights. They commended the efforts of the Control and Consumer Protection Section in educating students and answering their inquiries about consumer protection law, its recent updates, and its implementation methods, equipping them with practical skills that complement the theoretical knowledge they acquire at the University.
