The third session of the Ajman meeting for conducting businesses and competitiveness, the annual event organized by the Department of Economic Development in Ajman, (Ajman DED) will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, at the Fairmont Hotel Ajman under the slogan “Economic Sustainability.” This year, 10 of the most prominent partners at the levels of the federal and local public sectors and the private sector will participate. The anticipated event is based on the Ajman DED’s keenness to enhance effective communication with its partners, customers and educational institutions. It reflects Ajman's commitment to achieving climate neutrality, and contributing to creating a green economy that interacts positively with the surrounding environment, and helps create investment and competitive opportunities.
A number of partners and entities will participate in the forum, namely: The Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP), the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, Al Qasimia University, and the University of Sharjah, where working papers are presented during the sessions centered on the green economy, environmental policies and their impact on achieving economic gains, knowledge technology and creating the future of the economy. The dialogue session with experts and academics will discuss topics such as sustainable economic development, and the role of voluntary sustainability standards (VSS) in advancing sustainable development. Best practices and success experiences in the process of sustainable economic production for the following factories will also be presented: Al Ain Flour Mill, Safetex Group, Gulfa Water Factory, and Al Rehab Perfumes.
In this regard, H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Hamrani, Director-General of the Ajman DED, stressed the Ajman DED’s keenness to learn about best practices in all economic sectors to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of economic growth, and said: “The meeting confirms the importance of partnership, integration and joint cooperation between the public, private and academic sectors to maintain the renaissance achieved by Ajman, to enhance its position as an economic center, a leading investment destination, as well as the educational and academic institutions participating in the new edition will enrich the meeting and contribute to the field of scientific research in the economy as a basic foundation for its development.”
Al Hamrani added in his speech: “We are pleased with the participation and presence of a distinguished group of business owners, investors and active factories in Ajman, in order to strengthen the bonds of joint cooperation between us and to learn about their aspirations and practical visions from the ground in order to reflect them into government policies and initiatives that support and enhance their role in accordance with the aspirations of our wise leadership and in a way that contributes to maintaining stable GDP growth.
He stressed that this Meeting will continue for many years to come, as the Meeting constitutes a periodic platform through which all stakeholders meet in order to enhance and sustain the competitiveness of Ajman and the UAE, and consolidate their position as a global platform for doing business in innovative economic activities.
